Is it easy to upgrade to windows 7 from vista?
I have the rsther than brand new laptop, as well as we was wondering if it would be easy to ascent to windows 7 from windows vista?
Also, would windows 7 run uniformly upon my laptop?
I have the 2.0 ghz intel core 2 twin processor as well as 4gb ram.
Would 7 work ok with my computer?
Would it be tough to implement windows 7 (I have never commissioned an handling complement before)?
Thanks
oh, as well as if we upgrade, will i remove all of my files?

You’ll be able to do it no problem, and unless you select clean install, you will not lose your files. Just select upgrade, which will keep your existing files and upgrade to Win 7.

yes it should run fine. At 4 gigs of ram i would suggest windows 7 64 bit. I’m using it now and its fantastic.
It wouldnt be hard. from vista you can run an upgrade and it should not take long at all.

It would work fine. Even better than it does with Vista probably. Yes it is easy to install, not hard at all! It would work AMAZINGLY!

I had issues with the upgrade. It worked, but it wasn’t clean and I had problems. I then did a fresh install and it then worked seamlessly. Try the upgrade first, but bear in mind a fresh install might be necessary.
Your system specs will run it just fine.

Your specs are close to mine and I upgraded without any issue. I’ve been using it since the RC came out here and at work.
The only thing to keep in mind is it will take a few hours (my took about 4) with the RC. Current the migration process takes a while for all of the Vista configuration object.
Installing w/o an upgrade takes about 1 hour.

I think you will not have a problem. When you purchase Windows 7, you will get a disc. You will place the disc in the drive and follow the directions. See the site below.

You will lose everything so back everything up
windows 7 is coming out in 2010 but you can use the beta untill july 2010

I would never ever do an upgrade unless I had too, especially when coming from Vista.

Windows 7,
Prior to migrating to Windows 7 it would be best to download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will determine if your current computer configuration will be compatible with Windows 7, for further information as well as a link for download please go here: http://tinyurl.com/no4xb7
Another resource to verify compatibility is available at the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center located at the following link: http://bit.ly/1gW6Ns
When migrating from Windows Vista to Windows 7 you will have the option to select “custom” or “upgrade” install when prompted. By selecting the “upgrade” option, your documents and applications will follow and carry over through the install process. If you select, “custom” however you will be able to perform a clean install and all applications will have to be reinstalled manually — documents will be moved to a folder entitled “windows.old”.
For additional assistance with the migration of Windows Vista to Windows 7, Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You are welcome to check the threads there and receive additional assistance and feedback.
